Salt Lake County movers,
over the Point, daily.
Our trucks cross the Point of the Mountain so often it barely counts as leaving home. From downtown Salt Lake City to the Herriman bench, this county holds a huge share of our 1,000+ moves — and no two corners of the valley move quite the same way.
The county on our schedule every single day.
Top Notch Movers is headquartered in Lehi, a few minutes south of the county line, and crossing the Point of the Mountain is how most of our mornings start. Salt Lake County isn't an expansion market for us — it's core ground, the place where a huge share of our 1,000+ moves have either loaded or landed. One day it's a single upright piano headed to Murray; the next it's a three-day Premium pack-and-move out of a Holladay estate. Fifteen years in, there isn't a neighborhood in this valley our crews would need directions to find.
That familiarity matters, because the valley is really a dozen moving markets wearing one name. A condo tower downtown, a 1905 foursquare in the Avenues, a bench home above the Cottonwood canyons, and a week-old townhome in Herriman are four completely different jobs — different equipment, different crew plans, different ways a careless mover could do damage. We quote every one off a real walkthrough, in person or by video, and the number comes back as one guaranteed flat rate for the job. Not hours, not estimates that grow on moving day.
Downtown and the Avenues: vertical on both ends.
Moves in central Salt Lake City are logistics puzzles more than driving problems. The high-rises and newer apartment blocks downtown come with freight elevators to reserve, loading docks on timers, and building managers with rules — so we plan around all three. We confirm every job the day before around 3:00 PM with a two-hour arrival window, and the crew calls about twenty minutes out, which means the elevator reservation and the truck actually meet each other instead of missing by an hour.
The Avenues and the older streets around Liberty Park trade elevators for a different test: century-old homes with narrow staircases, plaster walls, ornate trim, and parking strips laid out for a different era. That's wrap-first territory. In-home wrapping and floor protection come standard on our Mid and Premium tiers, and the crews who work these blocks know the difference between a house that forgives a bump and one that remembers it forever.
The east bench: canyon views and heavy lifting.
Holladay, Millcreek, Cottonwood Heights, and the Sandy bench below the canyons hold many of the valley's largest homes — and most of its grand pianos, gun safes, and oversized furniture. Specialty work is half of what we do on this side of the county. We've moved pianos since 2014 on flat base rates by size, with per-step fees published right on the page — and the Salt Lake Valley is the one place where those published rates include no travel charge at all for moves entirely within the valley. Safes go up to 1,100 pounds on flat runs and 750 pounds over stairs, with flat $150 bolt-down anchoring for anything you want permanent. Long stair runs, switchback landings, and steep bench driveways get quoted honestly before moving day — never discovered on it. The bench also keeps our furniture delivery crews busy: statement pieces picked up from showrooms, warehouses, and private sellers, carried in clean, assembled, and placed exactly where the room wants them.
The southwest: the valley's fastest-growing corner.
Herriman, Riverton, Bluffdale, and South Jordan are where Salt Lake County is growing, and growth means new-construction moves: closings that slide a week, builders with rules about driveways and fresh sod, and floors nobody has scuffed yet — Daybreak alone keeps a steady line of moves on our calendar. New builds run on our standard rhythm: confirmation the day before, a two-hour window, a call-ahead from the crew. Our Mid and Premium tiers add the floor protection and in-home wrapping a week-old house deserves, and your quote stays flat even when the closing date doesn't.
Mid-valley: the workhorse grid.
Murray, Midvale, Taylorsville, West Valley City, Kearns, Magna — the middle of the valley is honest, high-volume moving country: ramblers, split-levels, apartment complexes, and the occasional hot tub that needs to leave a backyard. The grid is what makes it efficient. With I-15, I-215, and Bangerter Highway lacing the county together, a mid-valley move spends its time at your two addresses instead of on the road — and because every job is one flat rate, traffic is our problem to route around, not yours to pay for. It's also where labor-only earns its keep: loading a rental truck in a Taylorsville driveway or rearranging heavy bedroom furniture in a Kearns split-level, with straps, dollies, and tools on the crew. Appliance deliveries run these same streets — new washers and fridges set in place, leveled, and hooked up, with the old unit hauled off for donation or disposal as an add-on.
Businesses move here too — usually after hours.
Salt Lake County is also where most of our commercial work lives. Offices trade buildings, restaurants and retail shops move heavy equipment and shelving, tradeshow booths roll downtown on a deadline — we recently moved an entire cookie shop. Our commercial crews schedule evenings and weekends around your operating hours, because the real cost of a business move is downtime, and the cure is a crew that works while your customers sleep.
However your move runs — a studio apartment in Sugar House, an estate on the bench, a storefront on State Street — the process is the same one we run at home in Utah County: a quick ballpark from the quote form, a walkthrough, then one guaranteed flat price with a 25% deposit that locks your date and stays fully refundable up to 48 hours out. The county is big. The quote is one number.
